If you are seriously thinking about doing some proper research internship in India, IIT Bombay offers one of the best programmes. This Research Internship Award is for students who want to work directly under IIT Bombay professors on real projects. It’s a full-time internship in Mumbai campus, mostly from January to June 2026.
It’s not a normal online internship — this one is fully offline and with a monthly stipend of ₹15,000. Students from across India can apply, even from private colleges, as long as they are in the top 20% of their batch and can be available full-time.

Who Can Apply?
You should come under any of the following:

3rd or 4th year of B.Tech / B.E.

2nd year of M.Tech / M.Sc / MA

Integrated M.Sc students in equivalent year
And very important:

You must be in the top 20% of your department (ranking certificate from college principal needed)

Must be enrolled as a student till June 2026

Cannot have any coursework or exams during internship period (they need a No Coursework Certificate)

Minimum academic requirement: at least 60% or 6.5 CGPA
