If you are a science or engineering student and have always dreamed of doing something under ISRO, this is a really good opportunity. ISRO’s IIRS (Indian Institute of Remote Sensing) is offering internships and project trainee programs for UG, PG as well as Ph.D. students. The best thing is – it’s open to Indian students from recognized colleges in India and abroad.

Internship Scheme (Minimum 45 days)
Who can apply?

Students doing BTech, MTech, MSc, BSc, PhD etc.

Must be studying Science/Technology.

Minimum 60% marks or 6.32 CGPA needed.

Even students who finished their degree within last 6 months can apply.
Duration: Minimum 45 days compulsory.
Student Project Trainee Scheme (Offline Mode)

Minimum marks should be 60% or 6.32 CGPA for all.
Important Rules & Information (Please read before applying)

Only Indian nationals are eligible.

Seats are limited and totally depend on availability of IIRS Faculty/Guide.

You must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your college + documents.

Minimum period is 45 days and maximum can go up to 1 year (but no extension if you don't complete work).

Students who are not selected will NOT get any email or message.

Selection or confirmation letter will come on your email and also on the IIRS admission portal login.

No stipend, no hostel, and no salary during internship.

You have to bring 3 passport-size photos and all original ID proofs if you get selected.
Other Details

This is a really good academic internship, but it’s unpaid.

You will get a certificate only after successful completion & submission of report.

You are only allowed in non-classified/common areas of the ISRO centres.

If you want to publish your work as a paper, you need permission from ISRO after internship.

My Opinion / Final Note
For students who are really interested in Research work, Satellite Data, GIS, Remote sensing etc., this internship is a solid opportunity. It will help your CV a lot even if it’s unpaid. If you have 60%+ and proper documents, definitely apply. The competition is quite high, so prepare your resume nicely and keep all docs ready
