About the Team
The Delivery Engineering team lies at the heart of eBay’s Global Technology organization. It is the powerhouse behind the AI/ML-driven Developer Platform, which fuels the productivity and creativity of eBay’s engineering teams. This group designs and maintains the Continuous Delivery platform and other advanced low-code/no-code tools that enable engineers to develop and deploy software faster and smarter.
The Role: Platform Engineer
As a Platform Engineer, you will help build the next-generation Continuous Delivery and Developer Productivity Platform for eBay. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design and implement scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems that empower teams across the company to release high-quality software with speed and precision.
Your contributions will directly support Engineering Velocity, a company-wide initiative focused on developer experience and efficiency.
Responsibilities

Collaborate across teams and offices to understand developer challenges and design innovative platform solutions.

Identify areas for improvement in the developer experience, propose strategic solutions, and execute them end-to-end.

Assess project risks, recommend alternatives, and deliver scalable results.

Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Drive platform enhancements that optimize delivery, productivity, and developer satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
-
Strong experience with JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin.

Expertise in designing scalable distributed systems and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.

Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

Hands-on experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD, and tools like Kubernetes and Tekton.
-
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and scripting languages.
-
Knowledge of LLMs, ML models, and front-end frameworks (React or Angular) is a plus.

Understanding of DORA metrics, Flow Framework, and developer productivity tools is an advantage.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
